Year 6 to Year 7 Transition

We’re delighted to welcome you and your child to Bishop Barrington School as part of our new year 7!

It’s definitely an unusual and challenging time at the moment, and we know you and your child might be feeling especially nervous about the transition into year 7.

In order to follow the government's guidelines on social distancing, we've had to adjust our arrangements for supporting this year’s transition. However, we hope the remote activities that we’ve planned will help put your child (and you!) at ease and get them feeling as excited as we are for the new school year.

We have made the decision, after following DFE guidance, to continue with the transition virtually and we will not be having any visits to the school in the Summer Term. This decision has been made with the safety of both children and staff in mind, We know you’ll be as disappointed as we are that we won't be able to meet you but there will be lots of information and activities that will help you get used to Bishop Barrington School.

Welcome packs have now been posted to all parents/carers with relevant information about the transition process.

We’re here for you every step of the way during your child’s transition into year 7. If you have any concerns or questions, please let us know by calling us on 01388 603307 (school reception). Or via email to one of our primary liaison staff: nicola.wallace@bishopbarrington.net or faye.thornley@bishopbarrington.net

Please click on the sections on the right hand side to get further information about our transition process. This information will be updated regularly.
