Pupil Premium

The government believes that the best way to tackle underlying inequalities between children on free school meals and their peers is through additional school funding called the Pupil Premium. This funding is allocated to a school based on the number of students who are or have been in receipt of free school meals or who are children looked after by a local authority or those children whose parents are in the armed forces. The Pupil Premium grant is designed to allow schools to help disadvantaged pupils by improving their progress and the exam results they achieve.
