Bishop Barrington school excelled at the recent School Games L2 table tennis competition.
The u16 boys won after defeating Wolsingham School 8-0 with excellent performances from Aaron Willoughby, Jake Price, Diego Hernando and Kieran Bowes. The u16 girls won through to the L3 competition by default being the only team to enter the competition.
The girls; Rachel Attley, Hannah Dunn, Kate Maughan and Rebecca Hutchinson had trained really hard and are looking forward to the L3. The u13 girls team won by defeating St John's school. The team of Chloe Whymer, Caitlyn King and Emily Corbett performed excellently to win. The unluckiest team were the u13 boys. Drawing both games with St John's and Wolsingham, the lost on count back (number of individual games won). However the team performed above expectations and are already aiming at next years competition. The team consisting of Liam Brunskill, Joshua Wraith, Thomas Wraith and Matthew Foster were excellent and really unlucky.
Mr Johnson (Director of Sport) said, all 4 teams were excellent. We have trained hard and I am so pleased that 3 of the teams have qualified for the finals. All 4 teams played exceptionally well and we are now training even harder for the L3.
Well done to all!!
