Our use of Wifi
Recent reports in the media have suggested that wireless technology in schools can be detrimental to students' health, and we are aware that this may cause concern among parents. We are therefore issuing the following information about our use of wireless technology:
Bishop Barrington School makes very little use of wireless technology. It is used to provide Internet access to staff and visitors in a small area of the school near Reception and the Achievement Centre. The Sports Hall is also furnished with wireless acess to allow electronic registration. The rest of the school network is hard-wired with copper and fibre optic cabling.
We, naturally, are concerned about any threat to our students' health and well-being and we will take very seriously any advice given by the Government or LEA over the use of wireless technology in our school.
