Safeguarding

As you may be aware, all schools have a responsibility to ensure that their safeguarding arrangements for children meet statutory requirements and follow national guidelines.

It is particularly important that we do all we can to ensure that the site can only be accessed by authorised personnel and visitors.

As a consequence, we must inform you that the school site will not be open until 8.15 am, from which time the pupil entrance will be supervised. Unfortunately, the gate from Barrington Meadows will no longer be open on a morning. We are aware that this may be an inconvenience to students, since they will need to walk to the main entrance, but hope you will appreciate the reasoning behind these measures.

Contact details

On another safeguarding note, we would be very grateful if you could ensure that the school has up to date information on emergency contact numbers for parents and carers. It is also important that parents and carers ensure that there is someone available for contact at any time. There are very good reasons for this. Recently, we have had two incidents of very poorly children and we were unable to contact a parent/carer.

I do hope that you are able to support us in ensuring that Bishop Barrington is a centre for excellence in the safeguarding of our children.

If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
