Welcome.

Our aim at Bishop Barrington is to provide all pupils in our care with a desire and clear path to achieve academic success.

We strive to reach our aim by creating a climate of high quality teaching, firm but fair discipline, below average class sizes and a caring pastoral system.

Physical Education

Following designation as a Specialist Sports with Maths College in September 2006, the PE department has seen rapid development. The department benefits from a brand new NOF funded Sportshall and Dance/Multi use studio. Externally there are 2 football pitches, a grid area and tennis courts which are in the process of being refurbished.

There are a range of lunchtime and after school clubs including badminton, netball, girls football, boys 5-a-side, dance, rounders, athletics, trampolining, table tennis, gymnastics and basketball.

The school has representative teams in netball and football leagues and tournaments. We also participate in tag rugby, rugby league, dance, gym and girls football festivals. The school also competes in cricket, athletics, rounders, basketball and golf.

Specialist coaches have been used to support curriculum and OSHL in dance and rugby league.

The department also offers an annual ski trip to Italy supported by dry ski slope visits.
We also participate in the annual Year 10 Gifted and Talented performance camp.
