Study Centre
As well as being a teaching room, the Study Centreallows pupils to complete homework tasks or carry out research for class projects within school when lessons are not taking place. Pupils are allowed access to the Study Centre from 12:30 until 1:15pm every lunch time to use the facilities. A planner signed by a teacher is required for pupil access and must be shown to the supervising staff member (usually Mr. Rodway or Mr. Sisson) on arrival.
The Facilities
Our Study Centre has thirty modern PCs which are all attached to the main computer network and the Internet. A scanner is connected to one of these which allows photographs and newspaper articles to be scanned onto the computer for later use in electronic documents. There is also a large desk area for completing homework that does not require access to a computer. Just like our other three ICT suites in the school, the Study Centre also contains both colour and black-and-white laser printers. Air conditioning units ensure a fresh and cool environment to work in.
