22nd November 2005 - Year 10 Newcastle University Ace Day

Access to College Education or ACE days for short, are an opportunity for pupils to sample life at a university. It gives the students an insight into the academic and social sides of higher education whilst at the same time broadening their horizons. Here's what some of our students said about the day.

This was a chance to explore university, and discover what you can do there. I enjoyed the tour of the university as I have never really understood what to find at a university this visit gave me the chance to find out what a university really looks like. I now know that university is not a horrible big change as I thought it might be, and everyone can learn at their own discretion - you have more independence.

Newcastle University was really good, it has changed the way I think about university. I wasn't thinking about going to university, but now I know loads more about it and I'd love to go. I always thought it would be so much like school but it's totally different. You can study almost everything and anything. You make loads of different friends, they can come from any part of the country or even the world, there's lots of different cultures. It looks really great!
