This amount included £352, from the Christmas tombola, which Barclays kindly agreed to match, £ for £, through the bank's Community Programme, raising the grand total to a marvellous £774.72.
This was the third fashion show, organised by the PTFA, in conjunction with Lesley Hardy, owner of Pinc boutique in Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland. Students took to the catwalk to model the latest fashions, which were available for purchase on the night. The event also included a raffle, refreshments and Christmas tombola.
Since 2005, Barclays has given £1,575, through its matched funding scheme, to the PTFA. Over the same period, the PTFA has donated £6,624 to the school and will have a further £1,000 to donate, for two computers, in the New Year.
Head Teacher, Bruce Guthrie, said: "I would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to members of the PTFA for all their hard work. This is a fantastic amount to have raised. We are also very grateful to Barclays for their support. I would also like to thank Lesley Hardy of Pinc for putting on the fashion show."
