RAF Motivational Day

The activity involved 27 year 10 students. Two officers from the RAF lead and managed the day, focussing on teamwork, presentation, problem solving and communication activities. The objectives of the event were to develop key enterprise skills and motivate those pupils who may be at risk of not achieving their potential at key stage 4.
Below shows your responses to the activity day:

The self assessment tool has been designed for you to assess which enterprise skills you have gained/developed through this activity. The results show that the opportunity to develop all enterprise skills was given.
The most significant results are as follows:
- 100% of you stated in this activity that you had the opportunity to plan your work and organising yourselves.
- 100% of you stated in this activity that you had the opportunity to work with others as part of a team
- 96% of you stated that you had the opportunity to make decisions or choices and create new ideas.
The enterprise skills that match these responses are:
- Planning/organising
- Team working
- Creativity
- Decision making
The responses to coincide with the actual activities and objectives of the event.
You were encouraged to place comments to give examples for their responses. 37% of you gave some comments which referred to actual examples within the event where enterprise skills were being developed. This does perhaps show that the self-assessment tool is not being used as well as it could be, or that perhaps you did not have sufficient time to complete the assessment sheet fully.
The lowest responses for enterprise skills being developed in this activity was Leadership (59%), however not everyone can be a leader in a group.
