Year 11 go out in style at Redworth Hall
Thursday 2 July 2009
Year 11 pupils and staff from Bishop Barrington Sports with Mathematics College celebrated the many successes of the 2009 cohort on Friday night at Redworth Hall.
The event was organised by Art Teacher, Jonathan Carney, who was thrilled to see so many Year 11 pupils attend. “Year 11 have had a year of hard work and study in preparation for GCSE exams. The Prom night gives our year 11 pupils the opportunity to relax and celebrate after year of hard work.”
The Prom night also gives Bishop Barrington Pupils the opportunity to dress up! The boys looked dashing in tuxedos and suits, where as the girls went all out in full evening gowns.
The night included a buffet dinner, karaoke, disco and awards ceremony. Some awards were voted for by the pupils and appear in the school’s year book (also created by Jonathan Carney). These include such awards as “Most likely to become famous,” won by Cieran Latcham, who has had lead roles in all of the school’s recent theatrical productions. Staff also vote for six pupils who receive cash prizes for their efforts throughout years 10 and 11. Head boy, Daniel Edmundson and Head girl, Kate Ramage, both received awards for their outstanding contribution and hard work whilst at the school.
Emma Jones won the title Prom Queen and Jordan Berriman won the title Prom King.
