Making a Difference

Three of our students have had a hand in creating a kart load of fun for local youngsters.
James Brand, Jamie Lee Yorke and Robson Jones, and two fellow members of St Helen’s Millbank Senior Youth Club spent more than four months building two wooden go-karts which they then donated to children in Bishop Auckland.
They presented one go-kart to Evergreen School, and the other to the Sure Start Centre in St Helen Auckland.
Robson said: “We wanted to do something that we could enjoy making and something that the children could get a lot of fun out of.”
The boys worked on the project every Tuesday night to do something special for young children in their community. They had number plates made with the school and centre’s names.
Youth leader, Paul Belton, said: “They have done such a professional job. I am really proud of what they have achieved.”
