Dancing Feet

Monday 12 January 2009

Twenty primary school pupils competed this week competed in the exciting final of a dance mat competition held in our dance studio.

The dancing feet of ten-year-old Chloe Lynas of Toft Hill Primary School, tapped and stamped her way to success in the fun dance. She received a trophy and certificate. Certificates will also be forwarded to the other finalists.

Bishop Barrington School funded Slam Catz Dance Mat company to run a two hour dancing session in each of the school’s six primary feeder schools – Toft Hill, Etherley Lane, Woodhouse Close, Escomb, Cockton Hill, and St Anne’s.

The best four performers from each school were then invited to take part in the final on Wednesday, January 7.

Martin Broom, a PE teacher at Bishop Barrington, said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was an exciting final.”

John Pilkington, project manager, added: “It was a really good competition. All the children really enjoyed themselves. The final was really close, down to the last ten seconds.”
