Cross Country Championships

Wednesday 2 November 2016

Twenty pupils from Bishop Barrington School were selected to compete at the annual Wear Valley Area X Country Championships at Barnard Castle School, on Wednesday 19th October.

All pupils represented the school exceptionally well, working extremely hard on what was a difficult course. The KS4 boys (back row) came second as a team out of all of the local secondary schools, which was a great achievement. Individual performances worthy of highlighting include Carl (YR11), who came 2nd, Luke (YR10), who came 4th, Chloe who came 9th, Joshua and Thomas (YR8) who came 4th and 5th respectively . Luke, Chloe, Thomas and Joshua all ran in groups above their age so their placement was exceptional.

Head of PE, Martin Broom reported; 'It was a fantastic day during which all pupils worked really hard. The competition was of a high standard so it was great to see such pleasing success across the team'.

Many pupils are looking forward to representing the Wear Valley area at the County Cross Country championships at Barnard Castle in January.
