The Tempest

Thursday 1 March 2007

On Friday, 9th February, Arty-Fact Theatre Company performed an abridged version of The Tempest, which two classes of students are studying as part of their English SATs.

The company returned to school, on Monday, 12th February, to give a performance of Much Ado About Nothing, which another class of students are studying for their English SATs test in May.

The performances incorporated the SATs scenes, and were followed by a lively question and answer session. Simon Stansfield, Head of English, said: “The students enjoyed the performances, which helped in their understanding of the key themes and characters.”

Arty-Fact Theatre Company, which is based in Crewe, tours Secondary Schools with innovative Shakespeare productions. The performances are supported by free teacher’s packs.
