When two committed parents of students at Bishop Barrington School, decided that they wanted to help the school in some way, they came up with a great idea. They suggested to their employers at the St Helen’s branch of Southern Care Homes that new sports kit could be an advantage to both parties. The result of Joanne Free and Jackie Turner’s initiative has given our sport students a real boost.
As a result of their ideas, the company came up with a £600 sponsorship deal that provided Bishop Barrington school with 14 full netball strips, enough for two teams, and 1 set of football strips in Bishop Barrington colours.
Not only do the strips look top class, but they are high quality Kukri manufactured products. Debbie Hepple, Head of Girls’ PE said,
“The students know that they have some of the best quality kit and this is bound to have a knock on effect on their performances and team spirit.”
The proof of this will be tested in the next two weeks when both the Year 7 and Year 8 teams will be playing football. Whatever the result, they will be one of the best dressed teams in the league.
