Little did 13 year old Brandon Lee Wilson know when he scored 3 goals recently for Bishop Barrington Year 8 team, that the next day Bishop Auckland District Football Team would choose him for their next games. But their faith was rewarded when the team beat Stockton 4-1 and then Middlesbrough 3-1 because Brandon scored in both games!
Although currently playing as a striker, this is not a position that he would normally play. In fact, he had not played football for 2 years before joining the school’s Year 8 team. Now he also plays for St Mary’s Football Team in Bishop Auckland, so he always has plenty of opportunity to practice his new found skills.
Like many young people of his age, Brandon would love to play professionally for his favourite team, Newcastle United. Given his talent shown on recent form, it may not be too long before his wish comes true.
