Show Racism the Red Card

Bishop Barrington school students and staff wore red in support of Show Racism the Red Card - Wear Red day on Friday 23rd October 2015.

Pupils have been learning about racism issues and reflecting on emotive pictures and quotes during Thought of the Week.

Students raised over £470 for Racism Awareness work in schools throughout the UK.  The school are heavily involved with a number of charities and are looking to arrange a Cancer Research Race for Life and a British Heart Foundation event in the new year.

Assistant Head Teacher Ben Johnson said "It was great to see so many students and staff supporting this worthy cause.  We have been learning about racism through our wide-ranging SMSC work across the school and it was pleasing to see such backing for this programme".
