Future Scholar Award

What is it?

Previously called the Dux Award, this is an award aimed at high-achieving pupils in Year 9, to encourage those who may not have considered applying to a top university for a variety of reasons, to do so.

Who will get it?

FIVE year 9 pupils will be selected by reviewing the progress they have made across all curriculum areas since Keystage 2.

Why is it important?

The award will not only reward and recognise excellent progress, but will provide an opportunity for pupils to experience life and study at a typical top university. It is also a great addition to CV’s when applying for post-16 education in Year 11!

Where and when will it happen?

The award will involve a day’s visit to a Russell Group University in the North-east some time during June. Pupils selected to receive the award will be chosen at the end of this spring term. Selected pupils will also be invited to attend our annual Keystage 3 Celebration Evening.
