Bishop Barrington School Chosen to help Rescue Engineering

We have been extremely privileged to be one of just twenty five schools chosen to receive free LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) resources worth £3,000 as part of a pilot of the Elite Engineering Programme (EEP).  The schools were chosen following an application and campaigning process in England, Scotland and Wales.

The judges prioritised schools that would benefit most from the new resources.  They then considered how enthusiastic the school was and how much community support had been shown for the application.  The judges were also looking for a representative spread of schools across different regions in the UK. We will also receive free training for teachers, which will explain how to use the materials to deliver the STEM National Curriculum.  Students at the schools will have the chance to use the LEGO® resources to build sophisticated programmable robots to compete against others, at regional and national contests.
