On a chilly Friday lunch time, staff keen to prove their worth, made their way to the netball pitch to show they still had what it takes to grasp victory from their youthful counterparts. The Year 11 netball team, famed across the county for their skill and gritty determination, thrashed a weakened staff side that simply could not keep up with the youngsters in the first half. Mr. Hulme (a self confessed over-enthusiastic competitor) was devastated at the staff side’s inability to perform as the score increased throughout the second half. Bruised limbs and egos aside, staff were impressed by the squad of pupils and felt that the better team had won. Final score: staff 5- pupils 10. Spectators and players all contributed to the money raised for Children in Need.
