A number of students hit the high lights, literally, this month when on the 10th March they found themselves at the Sage in Gateshead. The whole thing started off as a lunchtime club in school run by PE teacher Caroline Ross. The club ran from last September until this month when the group perfected their routine.

The girls, known as the Fusion Dance Crew, put together a set performing to 8 songs, fused together. These songs featured Step Up, Michael Jackson and Kayne West. The whole event was part of an initiative called Youth Moves Dance Platform.

Caroline said, "The girls performed fantastically well in front of 1000 people. They showed 100% commitment and I was extremely proud of them."
