Gold Standard Results
Monday 12 September 2011
Bishop Barrington School are, yet again, celebrating excellent results, particularly in the Governments "gold standard" measure of at least 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths in GCSEs. Over 60% of students achieved this most important standard and in addition, 94% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades. 46% of pupils gained 3 or more A*/A grades.
Head teacher, Jackie Gent said,
"We are so proud of these outstanding results which area a fitting reward for the hard work of staff and pupils. They also reflect the excellent climate for learning which we have at Bishop Barrington and the emphasis we place on high quality teaching.”
Of particular interest is the fact that we had triplets in this year's group. Amy and Hannah and their brother Harley Woods (pictured) achieved a total of 18A*, 9A and 7 B GCSEs between them.
